These tights are the most delightful thing. I want them. I really want them.
I'm posting them here in the hopes that it will purge them from my mind and I won't need to buy them. Because I'm trying hard to be good at the moment and $50 (plus $19 postage) is a silly amount for a pair of tights.
OK seriously, Kate Spade Florence Broadhurst collection? You had me at hello.
I can't tell you how all this excites me. I freaking love this Japanese Florals print and the idea of wrapping myself in it thrills me no end. For years in my last office job the pattern was my desktop wallpaper and there are scrap samples of it in my bathroom.
These are my favourite bits:
Wallet. This has japanese floral lining peeking out. Sigh.
Pink and orange specs. No print on these but how cute are they on the girl in the picture above?
Suitcase. Don't click on this one or the cost will make you sad.
Umbrella. To go with the wellies.

Obviously I'd like one of everything packed into that suitcase and delivered to my doorstep. If Kate Spade shipped to Australia… which she does not. At all. Not even through my parcel forwarding service which has blocked her site. Poor form Kate Spade. Poor form.
I have strong Australian dollars to spend!
The truth is, so devoted have I been to my obsession with this collection I think I may have found a loophole that will allow me to get my mits on one or two pieces but it has been HARD WORK people - I won't lie.
Until I have the package in my hands, maybe don't tell anyone I told you though m'kay?

Adore, adore, love the fading pinks on the cover of Jan/Feb 2012 Vogue Living. And that painted brick wall, and that green… so perfect. I want everything in that room.
Matching up paint swatches of colour is something I've been playing with around the house lately.

This is the change table in Baby's room. I took this photo just before he was born, when I had the nursery all set up but before it was actually being used for anything. Which is why it looks so neat.
I did the paint swatch thing on the front of these ikea drawers using fabric, some thin quilt batting and my trusty staple gun.
I love every Gorman collection but this winter they are really killing it. The thick socks, the headscarves, the clashing prints. This is exactly the kind of crazy old lady I want to look like every day.

How do you feel when you know you have been completely and utterly manipulated by an advertising campaign? Does it bother you? Or are you happy to be targeted with a product if you have need?
I’m sure expectant parents, and especially first time mothers like me - stuffed to bursting with hormones, rosy baby fantasies and empty nursery drawers, must be one of the easiest demographics to tug at… and to make cry. Which is what I literally and embarrassingly do a little bit every time I see this ad on TV.
